Cub Scouts lets kids have fun while teaching them skills that will help them later on. From the thrill of shooting an arrow to learning how to transform a block of wood into a race car, Cub Scouts is one thrill after another. With a program expertly tailored to match each age in a young boy's life, Cub Scouts learn that even when fun isn’t easy, it’s always an adventure. In Scouting, everything has a purpose. And it shows kids that doing their best is the most fun of all.
The Scouting program kicks off in September each year. If you have any questions, please reach out to [email protected]
A brief word about fees. Pack 301 operates based on profit from our annual Popcorn Fundraiser. Other than the annual fees described below, Scouts and Parents do NOT pay for core activities, campouts or awards. We rely on YOUR help to sell popcorn to make our Pack GO! Less than $20 of your total fees comes back to the Pack for our general operating fund.

Is Scouting A Good Value?

 Absolutely!

While most extracurricular activities are seasonal, Scouting is a year-round program that remains one of the most valuable investments we can make to support young men today so they can become the leaders we will turn to tomorrow. Annual fees amounts to roughly $10 a month renewing Scouts, which is an enormous value when you consider that many seasonal extracurricular activities often start at $100-200 for programs that last only a few months.
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
Pack 301 will never prohibit a Scout from participating due to a financial hardship.
If you need assistance with registration fees, please contact Pack Leadership at [email protected] and we will help.
All youth are welcome!

New Youth Registration Process

1. Complete Online BSA Application

Complete an Online BSA Application. This is an application through BSA National. You will pay your new member fees for BSA National through this process. Once you have completed this step, please email Pack 301 Leadership ([email protected]) and notify us that you have submitted an application. We will then review and approve your application.

During this application process, you will pay your BSA National Dues and Fees. None of this money comes to Pack 301.
  • The annual national membership fee is paid to BSA National and helps pay for the cost of essential services, including program resources, liability insurance for those participating in approved Scouting activities, youth protection and other local council resources.
  • Membership starts on the first day of the month in which you registered, and ends the last day of the month prior, one year later. For example, members signing up on August 15th will have valid membership from August 1 through July 31st of the following year.
  • Each family will receive an email when renewal is due on their membership anniversary. It is the responsibility of each family to maintain their membership currency.
  • New members will pay a $25 BSA National One-Time New Scout Fee
    • Note: This fee is waived if the Scout has been previously registered with BSA anytime within the five years prior to August 1, 2020
