Adventure is Waiting.

Boys 6-10 Years Old or Grades K-5

Cub Scouts lets kids have fun while teaching them skills that will help them later on. From the thrill of shooting an arrow to learning how to transform a block of wood into a race car, Cub Scouts is one thrill after another. With a program expertly tailored to match each age in a young boy's life, Cub Scouts learn that even when fun isn’t easy, it’s always an adventure. In Scouting, everything has a purpose. And it shows kids that doing their best is the most fun of all.
The Scouting program starts in September each year. New applications should be submitted in mid-August or early September. If you have any questions, please reach out to cc.pack301@gmail.com

2022-23 New Scout Fee

The new scout registration fee is pro-rated depending on when the Scout joins. Typically, new Scouts join at the beginning of the school year. This equates to about $100. This fee is broken down as follows:
  • BSA National Annual Registration Fee of approximately $60
    • None of these fees go to support Pack 301 directly, they are all paid to BSA National.
    • The annual national membership fee is paid to BSA National and helps pay for the cost of essential services, including program resources, liability insurance for those participating in approved Scouting activities, youth protection and other local council resources. This fee is approximately $35 when joining in the Fall.
    • Because BSA dues are paid based on a calendar year, and Pack 301 recharters following a school year calendar, you will pay a prorated dues amount and the $25 one time fee (see below) when you register in August or September (or whenever you join). You will then also pay $72 when the Pack recharters which will cover your dues for the following calendar year.
    • It is paid directly to BSA during the online application process.
    • The annual fee is pro-rated depending on exact date of registration.
    • Includes a $12 annual subscription fee for Boys' Life Magazine.
    • Includes a $25 BSA National One-Time New Scout Fee
      • Note: This fee is waived if the Scout has been previously registered anytime within the five years prior to August 1, 2020.
  • Pack 301 Startup Fee of $41
    • This fee provides a neckerchief, slide, awards, and religious emblems workbook for the rank at which the Scout is entering the program.
      • $11 Neckerchief
      • $7 Slide
      • $13 Awards (7 Adventure Belt Loops and Rank Patch)
      • $10 Religious Emblems Workbook and Religious Emblem Award

2022 Adult Volunteer Fee

Note: Previously, Pack 301 reimbursed adult volunteers for their annual fee. Unfortunately, we can no longer do this. Adults will be responsible for their annual volunteer fee.
New Volunteers
  • $45 Adult Volunteer Fee (includes cost of background check)
  • BSA National One-Time New Adult Volunteer Fee of $25
    • Note: This fee is waived if the adult has been previously registered anytime within the five years prior to August 1, 2020.

Is Scouting A Good Value?

 Absolutely!

While most extracurricular activities are seasonal, Scouting is a year-round program that remains one of the most valuable investments we can make to support young men today so they can become the leaders we will turn to tomorrow. Annual fees amounts to roughly $16.25 a month (new Scouts) or $11.00 a month (renewing Scouts), which is an enormous value when you consider that many seasonal extracurricular activities often start at $100-200 for programs that last only a few months.

How Do I Pay?

  • Note: BSA Registration Fees are paid directly to BSA online at the time of application for new Scouts.
  • The preferred payment method is to pay electronically.

Adventure is waiting.
